Don't look now, kids, but the Detroit Tigers have won four in a row and sit one game over .500 in 3rd place in the AL Central - 4 1/2 games behind the first place Chicago White Sox.
On Saturday, the Tigers, barely, beat the Royals 8-7.
Prince Fielder blasted a 2-run 'tater and Delmon Young cranked a 2-run homer - his third straight game going YARD!
The Big Potato entered the 9th inning with an 8-4 lead. Valverde walked Alex Gordon on 4 pitches to lead off the inning. He gave up a double to Alcides Escobar. He walked Eric Hosmer to load the bases. Billy Butler hit a 2-run single. The score was, now, 8-6.
Austin Jackson's mad defensive skills, then, kicked-in to save Valverde's ass!
Jackson caught Yuniesky Betancourt's fly ball at the wall to save a near 3-run homer. The next batter, Mike Moustakas, hit a sacrifice fly that Jackson had to charge to make an underhanded catch. The score was 8-7.
Mercifully, Jeff Francoeur struck out. The Tigers escaped with a win (Whew!!).
That's a clown dance, bro!
