ALL-STAR RECAP

The 2012 All-Star game was a very one-sided affair.
The NL laid a beating on the AL to the tune of 8-0.
Justin Verlander decided to start the game by serving-up a steady diet of 100 mph fastballs. He gave-up 5 runs in the 1st inning.
Melky Cabrera Had a homer and 2 RBIs to capture the All-Star MVP Award.
Chipper Jones singled in his final All-Star appearance.
There was a contrast in performances by two much-heralded rookies: Bryce Harper had a walk, struck out and missed a fly ball. Mike Trout walked, singled and stole a base.
The game marked Tony La Russa's last time in the dugout.

Here are FOX Sports Detroit Girl Allison's parting shots from KC.
