WAKE, COCO & KATY

Only Timmy Wakefield could serve-up a Grand Slam and walk off the mound to a standing ovation! Wakefield pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowed 10 hits, 7 runs, 1 walk and got 4 Ks.
Yep, 7 runs! But, because he pitches for the Boston Red Sox, he got the win. His teammates put-up 17 hits and beat the Mariners 12-8.
Wakefield joined Roger Clemens as the only pitchers to strike out 2,000 batters with the Red Sox and moved one win away from his 200th victory...

The Tigers took 3-out-of-four from the Minnesota Twins.
Detroit beat Minnesota 5-2 on Sunday.
Rick Porcello got his 10th win. Porcello went 6 innings, allowed 5 hits, 2 runs,
2 walks and added 4 Ks.

The Yankees beat the Athletics 7-5.
Hideki Matsui LIKES playing in front of those New York fans!
On Sunday, Matsui went 5-for-5 with 2 doubles and 1 RBI.
Curtis Granderson smacked his 27th homer this season.
Mariano Rivera reached 25 saves for the 15th consecutive season - he holds the major league record.

I'm sure you've noticed that I've been following the Oakland Athletics for a couple weeks now. A trio of Hot Baseball Wives led me here - Amanda McCarthy, Kim DeJesus and Brooke Sizemore. All HOT. All nice. A close knit little group who support their baseball-playing hubbies. Plus, the MONEYBALL movie is coming-out in September - telling the story of A's VP & GM Billy Beane. So, I'm kinda jazzed about all things A's these days. That's why I'm, once again, following the entertaining Coco Crisp.
I loved the Coco-Man when he was in the outfield for the Red Sox! One of my favourite CoCo-Moments was when the Red Sox got into a bench-clearing brawl with the Rays and Coco went all MATRIX-like on a wild James Shields roundhouse...

Then, earlier this season, Coco became the Second Coming of Oscar Gamble with his sweet 'Fro...

Then, this past weekend, the announcers spent an inordinate amount of time concentrating on the piercing-within-a-tatoo that Coco's rockin' on his neck...

Ah, Coco, you're ALWAYS entertaining!

So, Katy Perry is the voice of Smurfette in The Smurfs movie. This chick is exposing a whole new audience to beloved childhood characters...
