Monday night wasn't a good night for baseball.
The Tribe beat the Red Sox 9-6.
Cleveland shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera hit 2 homers, the second dinger came off reliever Daniel Bard and snapped his scoreless innings streak at 26 1/3. It was the first run Bard has allowed in 25 scoreless appearances!
The Mariners beat the A's 8-4.
A's catcher Kurt Suzuki went 2-for-3 with a homer and 2 RBIs.
Seattle rookie 2nd baseman Dustin Ackley went 2-for-4, including a
bases-loaded triple and 3 RBIs.
Ackley now has 19 extra-base hits in his first 37 games. It's the second-highest total for any Mariners rookie in their first 50 games...
Jered 'Weasel' Weaver is appealing the six-game suspension he received From MLB for throwing a temper tantrum and then throwing a pitch at Alex Avila's melon.
The Weasel says:
"I'm not one to go out there and show people up. I play the game with loyalty and respect to a lot of players, and I would hope that maybe they would respect me a little bit. I just didn't like the way it happened. Maybe the emotion of the big game and going up against Verlander has something to do with it, but I just didn't think that it was right."
Wah. Wah. Wah. You were chirping at Cabrera and Magglio the whole game Weasel. That's not loyalty and respect. You got outpitched and acted like a little bitch...
But you're lookin' good, WEAVINATOR, you're lookin' good...
YIKES! There's only one way to get that ugly mug out of my mind...
