This, my friends, was a sweep of epic proportions!
On Friday, the Tigers beat the White Sox 8-1 for Justin Verlander's 21st win.
On Saturday, the Tigers staged a comeback from an 8-1 deficit and beat the White Sox 9-8 on a walk-off dinger by the Baby-Faced Assassin.
On Sunday, a frustrated Chicago team got OWNED by a Red-Hot Detroit lineup that put-up 24 hits, including 5 doubles and 2 homers to CRUSH the White Sox 18-2!!!!
The Tigers scored 35 runs in three games against Chicago
Max Scherzer pitched 7 innings, allowed 5 hits, NO walks and added 6 Ks.
Andy Dirks didn't enter the game until the 6th inning and, still, had a home run and 4 RBIs.
Miguel Cabrera hit his 'tater to the farthest reaches of Comerica Park - into the bushes behind the center-field wall - a blast that was stopped abruptly at the 420-foot mark - but, easily, could've landed in the Detroit River!
The boys shared the wealth - here's the RBI distribution: Miguel Cabrera(4), Andy Dirks(4), Jhonny Peralta(3), Victor Martinez(2), Alex Avila(2), Delmon Young(1) and Brandon Inge(1).
After the sweep, the Tigers lead the AL Central - 8 1/2 games ahead of the
3rd-place White Sox...
...and 6 1/2 games ahead of the 2nd-place Cleveland Indians.
