Geez, Louise! Will Timmy Wakefield still be seeking win #200 at the beginning of the 2012 season?
Mr. Knuckleball ended up empty-handed after his 7th attempt at his 200th career victory!
Wake left the game in the 5th inning with an 8-5 lead. The Boston bullpen, then, proceeded to implode! The, usually, reliable Daniel Bard entered the game in the 8th, having allowed just 1 earned run in his previous 10 outings. His control was a bit off...Bard hit the first batter, gave up a single to the second batter, issued a walk, struck out the next two, then issued 2 more walks. Bard got yanked. Francona brought in Matt Albers, who gave up a 3-run double.
Despite homers by Jacoby Ellsbury, Adrian Gonzalez and the Large Father, the Blue Jays defeated the Red Sox 11-10.
To rub it in further, in the 3rd inning, Jose Bautista stole home while Red Sox' catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia tried prevent a steal at 2nd base...
Oakland A's hurler Guillermo Moscoso was rockin' a No-No until KC Royals rookie Salvador Perez singled with 2 out in the 8th inning.
Moscoso ended-up pitching 8 2/3 innings of 2-hit, shutout baseball to lead the A's to a 7-0 victory over the Kansas City Royals.
Coco Crisp, in his first game back after missing 4 games with a sore right foot, went 2-for-4 and stole his 40th base of the season. He became the 10th A's player to record 40 stolen bases in a season.
The HBWHOF's favourite British Babe just unleashed her new calendar...
